Wi-Fi on Long Island
Are you afraid of Wi-Fi ?
"When I first heard about free Wi-Fi hotspots, I didn't really think there would be any gain for the host. According to this ComputerWorld article, John Wooley, CEO of the famous Schlotzsky's Deli, says that offering free WiFi has returned his investment many times over. This article said that Mr. Wooley calculated that the free Wi-Fi that he offered in only some of his delicatessens brought in an additional 15,000 clients (visits) per restaurant per year . These customers spent an average of $7 per visit... That's over $100,000 per year per outlet.....Read More>>Diners and Cafes don't know what they're missing...

The article goes on to quote Ms. Lovina McMurchy, director of Starbucks Interactive, who states that the Wi-Fi offered at Starbucks helps attract customers after the peak morning hours. And those customers tend to be "high-income customers" who "come more often and stay longer"
Those fears you have of lost tables, with clients sitting for hours ordering nothing but that bottomless cup of coffee are quite unfounded. And if you are wary, there is a solution... How about offering 1/2 hour of free high-speed Internet service with a minimum purchase? Reward your loyal customers and attract new ones with HotSpot Customer Reward Cards from our affiliate Urban Hotspots.
Good for a short period ( you decide how long ) of free high-speed Internet service via a reward card with your print ad on it that you hand out at the till. It's got a code on it that entitles the user to a specified amount of time and then it expires, at which point the user has the option of buying more time from you. Urban Hotspots is the leader in this innovative concept. If you've been to Fire Island recently you probably experienced it first hand. Much of the public areas in Fire Island have been "heated up" by Craig Plunkett - CEO of Urban Hotspots and an alliance partner of the Long Island Connection.
